What do we know about Lazer Lamps new Glide?

Lazer recently announced their new Glide range of lightbars, the world’s first ‘formed’ LED light bar where every component is inherently shaped into its curved design. Featuring a monocoque lens construction for highly weight-efficient inherent strength and robustness, Glide is a range of ultra low-profile 20” curved light bars that deliver incredible light output originating from the combination of dedicated spot and wide LEDs/optics. Lazer have worked hard to precision engineer this perfect balance of lighting performance with modern OE quality aesthetics, sympathetic to the front contours of a diverse number of vehicle types and models, particularly within the passenger car and light commercial sectors.

We’re still to get our hands on one but from looking at the specs they seem to have a beam pattern similar to the Linear 18 Elite i-LBA, a bit more of a centre spot to it than the Linear 18 Elite.

Specs

Elite

12,800 lumens

8012 fov lumens

1 lux @ 624m

Standard

11,000 lumens

6958 fov lumens

1 lux @ 548m

With the Linear range from Lazer there was quite a big difference between the standard and Elite models, typically they had twice the output. Looking at the specs of the Glide there isn’t as much of a difference 11,000 lumens vs 12,800 and 1 lux at 548m vs 624m.

Normally we’d recommend the Elite version of the Linear 6, 12, or 18 as you get twice the output in the same size package. However the Glide standard might be the best value for money option. It’s looking like we’ll have to get both in to try them back to back.

Elite on top, standard on the bottom

We have a Glide Elite due in and will have some videos up soon. If you’d like one we’re taking pre-orders on our website. We expect shipping to start in a week or two.
