The Ghost immobiliser from AutoWatch is a CanBus immobiliser. Its job is to prevent your vehicle from being started until it is disarmed. Unlike traditional immobilisers that use fobs the AutoWatch Ghost uses buttons already located in the vehicle. A unique combination can be set by the user varying from 4-24 presses.
The Ghost is wired into the vehicles CanBus system, it interrupts the signals going between ECUs preventing starting. It’s small enough to be hidden into a wiring loom making it very challenging to find for a thief.
The Ghost is effective against relay attacks, key cloning, emergency key override, key theft and Can injection.
Why would we pick a Ghost over a Tracker?
The Ghost doesn’t have a subscription fee. There is only a one off payment at install. Trackers are only really useful after your vehicle has gone missing, whereas the Ghost prevents your vehicle from going missing in the first place. Obviously the best option is to have both but if we were to have only one it would be a Ghost.
